Domains are always great. But, they get better with time. There are only so many domains available at this time and less as time goes on. If you have an idea of a website that you might want to work on at a later time, go to godaddy, make a budget for yourself & start buying domains. Buy the domains that make sense. Something that you should remember is that even if you will not use the domain there WILL be someone else that wants to use it. The price only increases over time.
A prime example of this is this - I was on a forum and some guy was bragging about how he just registered an unregistered 3 letter domain on godaddy. when he showed us we were less then impressed. That was because he the domain had a letter in it. Now it is about 2 years later and that domain is worth a killing. People are now willing to pay a very high amount for those domains.
The moral of the story is if you register a domain that has some worth to it now, it will be worth a lot more at a later time. A nice term for this type of business is domain realistate. Stake your claim before the rest.
