Best Place To Sell Your Domains?

Postby Drizzle on Sat Apr 05, 2008 2:38 am

Is SEDO really the best place to sell domains? I've actually had a few domains on there and I left them for about 3 days - and nothing. Everytime I hear "wow, LLLL.com sold at SEDO for $Xx'xxx" I constantly wonder what in the world they had to do to get their domains noticed in the auctions. How long did they have to wait?

The big problem with selling your name at Namepros is that most members there are resellers. They'll only buy your domain to make a profit - so you must be willing to kill your prices. To make it big at a resellers market, you need to start with a few hundred or thousand dollars (or be really, really lucky). Most of the successful resellers actually have enough to buy a few hundred domains in one day! :o

Where's the best place to sell your domains, especially if you're looking to sell to end users?

I'd definitely say SEDO. Don't feel alone, I've had several names over there for awhile - had tons of looks at the names - but no buys. However, the names get tons of exposure when up for bid and the 10% fee is more than paid for.

That's only true if your site has a high number of visitors, the reason why auction sites are better spots to park your domain name. Whois also promotes domain names without even the knowledge of the domain name holders and if there are interestd buyers they contact the owners.

I sell my domains to business end users who are sent there by accountants and atorneys.

I think Digital Point may be one of the better places to sell your domain names at. However I must warn you that the mods there are quite strict and will not hesitate to ban anybody. They mean business when they say to follow the rules. But either way I have sold a variety of domains there with no problem.
