I would view .asia as a fairly significant tld inasmuch as 2/3 of the entire world lives there, as well as the sub-Continent. of India
450MM on line with 13MM new ones added every month but, more importantly, is that it is the asian economic engine that drives the world economy.
The Pacific Rim while appearing to be many fractionated countries will embrace .asia as a regional identity.
The .com,. net .org is the architecture of the Internet that was thrust upon them. Now, with the opportunity to throw off the " label-shackle " of the Western world creations of .com, .net .org domain extensions, they wil opt to brand with .asia.
If anyone has been to Canada recently, you will be hard-pressed to see a .com anymore. The billboards, subway signs, bus advetising, business flyer advertising etc., all bear domains with the .ca extension.
What will happen to those formerly valuable .coms? Well, if the country where they were being used opts forthe regional branding that .com is rendered obsolete.
And what would someone in another country do with QuebecArt.com?
.asis is for real and will expand not arithmetically, nor concentrically but exponentially in value.
In this market, do not purchase with a singular identity in mind. Paint with a broad brush of thought. Look for something like TokyoGalleries.asia which defines both a large, well-known geographical area coupled with a broad-based industry appeal. Galleries can be art, pictures, clothing, malls etc
